untitled tag game Maps
Main pool, verticality, misprints, and how to read a layout in two rounds.
Maps are the other half of untitled tag game. A mode tells you who to click; a map tells you which height the click happens on. Public servers vote three map cards every two rounds. Triple Vote can weight that ballot. A rare misprint map plays error popups, then drops you into a twisted layout (Donut Shop instead of Haunted Mansion is the textbook example). You get two rounds to learn a place. That is enough if you scout on purpose and not enough if you only sprint the spawn floor.
This page is the main pool, how to think about verticality, what misprints and events do, and general route advice for classics like Crossroads and Glass Houses. It does not invent named secret paths. Community videos (including Sway’s guide) keep repeating the same truths: take high ground, use swing bars, use ziplines. Pair that with Movement tech and Gamemodes win conditions. New players should still start at Getting Started.
How map votes work
You play two rounds on the winner, then vote again. Round one is scouting. Round two is applying. If you spend round one only chasing one player at ground height, round two will feel identical and you will still die on the same stairs.
Scout checklist (every new map):
- Find a roof or tower you can vault or tagpad onto.
- Find a swing bar that converts a drop into an exit.
- Find a zipline that crosses the middle, and note both ends.
- Note rails, checker walls, smashables, and tagpads (Craigville and Bloxburg are pad-heavy).
- Note lava, cannons, and bounce pads so you do not “escape” into a death.
Then play the mode you actually voted. Crown wants the roof. Infected wants an eject. Bomb wants a pass angle, not a hiding hole. Gamemodes is the rule sheet; this page is the terrain.
Main pool
These names rotate in public votes. Learn the vocabulary even if you have not played every one:
Area 51, Bloxburg, Chaos Canyon, Courtyard, Craigville, Crosspaths, Crossroads, Faction Action, Festive Town, Glass Houses, Haunted Mansion, Pizza Pie Parlor, Raven Rock, Roblox HQ, Rocket Arena, Santa’s Stronghold, Sword Fights on the Heights, Teapot Temple, Titanis’ Reservoir, Ultimate Paintball Arena, Westside Rock.
Sometimes limited: Highway Havoc, Ravage Rock, Toy Arena. They can sit in the pool with a timer icon and vanish again. Rocket Arena Test is a variant card, not a second game.
How to think about them without a 40-page atlas:
- Crossroads, Glass Houses, Sword Fights on the Heights, Rocket Arena — vertical classics. Bars, roofs, and long sightlines. If you stay in the courtyard, you are content.
- Bloxburg, Craigville — streets plus pads, rails, interiors. Railflings and tagpads matter. Smashables open alleys.
- Chaos Canyon, Raven Rock, Westside Rock, Titanis’ Reservoir — terrain and elevation, fewer “city block” reads. Fall swings off ridges.
- Area 51, Roblox HQ, Faction Action, Ultimate Paintball Arena — themed interiors and lanes. Wallruns on checker faces, ziplines across yards.
- Haunted Mansion, Festive Town, Santa’s Stronghold, Pizza Pie Parlor, Teapot Temple, Courtyard, Crosspaths — compact or seasonal reads. Interiors punish wide camera; vault door lips and use bars in the open.
You will not memorize every crate. You will memorize where height lives. That is the skill the two-round timer is testing.
Verticality: high ground, bars, ziplines
Sway-style advice stays general because maps patch and misprints remix geometry. The constants:
High ground. Vault lips, roofs, towers, and canyon rims beat ground W-holds. Taggers who take stairs with vault stacks arrive with momentum; runners who drop without a bar arrive with zero. Crown peasants steal from below only if they have a pad or a zipline; otherwise they donate the crown back.
Swing bars. They are exits. A roof without a bar is a trap. Fall swing when you have height to spend; short swing when you only need a heading change. Gymnast (two fall swings) is a Crossroads homework assignment, not a shop purchase.
Ziplines. They are middle-crossers. Ride them to split a lobby, not to AFK. Jump off early if a tagger is on the cable. Hot Pursuit (full ride) is a drill on a quiet round, not a Crown strategy.
Rails and wallruns. Bloxburg rails teach railfling (roll on the rail). Checker walls on Crossroads-style signs and HQ faces teach wallrun chaining. Neither is a dedicated key; see Controls.
Tagpads and smashables. Pads launch; learn the wedge facing. Smashables open holes for Don’t-get-cornered plays in Infected and Freeze.
Misprint maps
Misprints remix a main-pool map instead of adding a new planet. Expect stretched layouts, extra copies of a landmark, theme swaps, or weather jokes. Examples you will hear in lobbies:
- 4-Way Glass Houses — more houses around the center.
- Parallelroads / Crossy-roads / Frostroads / Town-roads — Crossroads family stretches and themes.
- Donut Shop / Mellow Mansion — Haunted Mansion family, different lighting and props.
- Modern Bloxburg, Chinatown Bloxburg, Climate Change Bloxburg — Bloxburg skins.
- Glass Castles, Grass Houses, Walled Glass Houses, Modern Glass Houses — Glass Houses skins.
- Satan’s Stronghold versus Santa’s Stronghold, Raven Ranch / Modern Raven Rock / XMAS Raven Rock / Zen Rock / Swamp Rock — stronghold and rock remixes.
When the error popups hit, do the scout checklist again. The swing bar you loved may have moved. The zipline may now cross lava. Flip the Script still counts. Do not leave the server just because the lighting went purple.
Event maps and collabs
Events shove themed copies into the public pool, then demote them to private servers. Hallows 2024 is the clear example: Bloodburg (Bloxburg), Cursed Canyon, Creepyroads, Creepypaths, Frightful Faction, Ghastly Houses, Wraith Rock, Rotten Arena, Spectre’s Stronghold. Holiday rotations (Frostroads, XMAS Raven Rock, Christmas Eve Bloxburg, Frosted Action, MERRYTAGMAS cosmetics) do the winter version of the same trick. Combat Initiation, DOORS, Slap Battles, Halloween Spotlight, and Hunt Mega Edition have each dropped CI Crossroads-style or slap-arena layouts for a patch.
After the event, you usually need a private server to revisit Bloodburg. Public advice: play the event map like its parent. Bloodburg is still a street-and-pad map. Ghastly Houses is still a Glass Houses height problem. Do not invent a new genre just because the skybox is orange.
Private-server catalogs (Baseplate, Mall, Movementism, and a hundred WIP maps) are for labs. Public ranked-feeling play happens on the main pool. If you want a quiet railfling sandbox, host a private server after you learn the public names.
Crossroads and Glass Houses, without fake routes
These two are the homework maps. Videos will draw arrows on specific roofs. Those arrows go stale. What does not go stale:
On Crossroads, the middle is a tag farm. Height around the middle is the real map: towers, the Roblox-sign checker wall for wallruns, swing bars over drops, ziplines that skip the plaza. If you chase only on the grass, you will tag beginners and lose to anyone who can vault. Use round one to stand on a roof and watch where bars sit. Use round two to enter and leave that roof with a swing instead of a suicide jump.
On Glass Houses, the houses and the center tower are the high ground. Ground between them is a shooting gallery for anyone on glass. Vault the lips, do not jump them. If a zipline or bar links a house to the tower, that is your Crown highway. 4-Way and walled misprints add more of the same: more houses, more lips, same rule.
The same read applies to Sword Fights on the Heights and Rocket Arena: islands and platforms are safe only if you have an exit. No exit, no stay.
Two-round map scouting
Treat every vote as a two-round exam. Round one: survive, name one roof, one bar, one line. Say them out loud if you have to. Round two: play your role using those three things. Classic runners spend No Tag Back getting to the roof. Bombers pass on the zipline exit, not in a closet. Infected runners keep the bar as an eject. Crown holders stop posing on a lip with no swing. Then the map changes, and you do it again. That habit beats a screenshot album. When coins show up, spend them in Shop and Coins instead of standing still to emote on a roof. Redeem codes between votes. Use the tier list only as a “is this card painful for my skill” check, and Players only after you can find a bar without a YouTube overlay. Maps are readable. Two rounds is the whole lesson.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How often do maps change in untitled tag game?
A map lasts two rounds, then the lobby votes among three cards. Misprints can replace the winner. Gamemodes vote on a different timer: every round.
What should I look for on a new map?
High ground, a swing bar, and a zipline, plus pads, rails, and smashables if they exist. Movement is how you use them. Do not invent a memorized speedrun line on round one.
Why do Crossroads and Glass Houses feel unfair?
They punish ground sprinting. Roofs, bars, and ziplines are the real layout. Stay off the courtyard if you can vault. This Maps page keeps that advice general on purpose.
What is a misprint map?
A twisted main-pool layout after error popups, such as Donut Shop, 4-Way Glass Houses, or Parallelroads. Scout again; your old bar may have moved.
Where did Bloodburg and other Halloween maps go?
Hallows 2024 event maps left the public pool and usually need private servers. Play live event layouts like their parent maps. Cosmetics from those weeks sit in Shop and Coins.
Are Highway Havoc, Ravage Rock, and Toy Arena always available?
No. They often appear as limited cards. Vote them when you see them, and do the same scout checklist you use on Bloxburg or Rocket Arena.
