untitled tag game Gamemodes
Win conditions, misprints, and how to vote without wasting a round.
Gamemodes are the rules layer on top of parkour. Every round the lobby votes among three cards. The winner is the mode you play on the current map (maps themselves last two rounds; see Maps). A rare misprint can replace the card you voted with a twisted rule set. Triple Vote (gamepass) makes your ballot count three times; the stacking effect can glitch-hint that a card is a misprint before it reveals. You do not need the pass to play. You do need to know what you clicked.
This page is how each main mode works, how you win, and which misprints rewrite it. Movement still decides chases — Movement — but the click means different things. If you are brand new, skim Getting Started first. Binds stay on Controls. Vote flavor lives on the tier list.
Voting
Click a card every round. AFK is still a vote for whatever the loud majority wants. Prefer a mode whose win sentence you can say out loud. If two cards are chaos and one is Classic, Classic is the learning pick. If you already have a crown streak, Crown is the ego pick. Misprints only lock in after the vote (unless stacking shows the glitch). Flip the Script is the achievement for seeing one.
Limited cards rotate. Royal FFA and The Storm are the usual limited pair. Toxic started as an event and still appears as limited or private-server content rather than a guaranteed public staple. Event collabs (Combat Initiation, DOORS, Slap Battles, Halloween Spotlight, Hunt Mega Edition, Hallows, Holiday 2025 MERRYTAGMAS) can inject extra cards for a week. Treat those as temporary and read the HUD.
Classic, Competitive, Speed, and disguises
Classic is taggers versus runners. A tag swaps roles. Win as a runner when the timer ends. This is the mode that teaches No Tag Back: tag, leave, do not stand on the victim. Repeat-tagging the same runner is reduced coins (typical tag is still ~10 coins / 5 XP for a new name).
Speed Classic (misprint) buffs tagger walkspeed and jump. You must use vaults and ziplines; ground running dies. Disguised Classic hides tagger looks so runners cannot color-read. Listen for chase audio and watch who sprints at you.
Competitive is lives: avoid being hit. You are not swapping forever; you are spending a hit count. Quick Competitive drops the hits (often 2 instead of 3) and shortens the last-life timer. Vote Competitive when you want cleaner 1v1s and hate Bomb RNG.
Bomb family
Bomb hands bombs to a few players. Pass the bomb by tagging a runner before the fuse hits zero. Explosions eliminate bombers, then the fuse repeats until one survivor remains. Win by not holding the bomb at boom, then by being last. Dance with Death (tagged twice in bomb and still survive) is the achievement for greedy passes.
Misprints:
- Hot Potato — faster, nastier fuse culture; keep moving.
- Funny Bomb — very fast bombers, tiny fuse (about 5 seconds in common descriptions). Panic parkour.
- RNG Bomb — fuse or count variance. Do not assume the timer you memorized.
- Subspace Bomb — visibility tricks; bombers can be harder to read at range.
- Nuke — bigger punishment, bigger “get off me” energy.
- Redemption Bomb — extra life logic; read the HUD instead of assuming Classic bomb.
Bomb is where slide cancels and fall swings earn their keep. A bomber who can high-vault will always catch a runner who only holds W.
Crown family
Crown spawns one or more crowns. Crown holders score by keeping it; peasants steal by tagging. Win with the crown on your head. Height is everything: a crown on a Glass Houses roof is worth more than a crown in a courtyard brawl. See Maps.
Guarded Crown adds protection around the holder. Solo Crown is a single crown, so the whole lobby funnels. Do not 1v20 on the floor. Take a zipline, a tagpad, or a swing exit. Infinite Crown is an alternate server, not the public card.
Infected, Freeze, and Chaos
Infected starts with patient zero. Tags convert runners into infected. Infected win by converting the lobby; runners win by surviving. Lone Survivor is last runner. Camping a closet without an eject (zipline, tagpad, smashable) is how you get cornered.
Misprints: Medic Infected adds medics who can save or fight infected. Mutant Infected rolls variant infected (speed, size, leap, cloak-style kits — read the role). Horde floods zombies and can hand runners paintball tools. Pingus is the meme convert. Vote Infected when you want a snowball; vote Medic when you want a job besides run.
Freeze has taggers freeze runners and teammates thaw them. Savior (thaw many in one round) is the support achievement. Team Freeze is the team-colored cousin. Do not chase a freeze across the map if a thaw is happening behind you.
Chaos assigns mixed roles from other modes in one round. You might be a bomber next to a crown next to infected. Read your own objective, not your neighbor’s. Chaos is a poor first vote and a great third-hour vote.
Combat and team modes
Free-For-All is elimination / tag-everyone energy. There is no safe runner identity. Juggernaut puts power on a small set of players; the lobby hunts or survives them. Bloxxed Juggernaut (misprint) leans on items. Slasher is killer versus survivors; Haunted Slasher turns dead survivors into weaker haunters. Murderer (five survivor kills as slasher) is the streak badge.
Team Deathmatch and Team Swap split the lobby. TDM eliminates; Team Swap converts the tagged player to your color. 4-way and 6-way misprints just add more teams and more spawn confusion. Call your own color, then play the map’s high ground.
Royal FFA and The Storm are limited. Royal FFA is a shrinking-royalty brawl. The Storm adds a closing hazard. If you have not learned rolls yet, these will feel unfair; they are not, they are just intolerant of standing still.
Don’t Blink and Witch Hunt are misprint / event-adjacent hunters. Don’t Blink rewards awareness and line of sight, not only walkspeed. Witch Hunt is a hunt card — treat it like Slasher with extra rules. Toxic (event, later semi-permanent) is a hazard-and-tag hybrid; if it appears, respect the floor as much as the click.
Private-server extras (Hide and Seek, Initiation, Slap For All, Capture the Flag, and dozens more) are not the public pool. This wiki’s public advice assumes you clicked a main-pool card in a 40-player server.
How each win actually happens
Ignore the marketing on the vote card and use this cheat sheet:
| Mode | What a tag does | You win if |
|---|---|---|
| Classic | Swap tagger / runner | You are a runner at 0:00 |
| Bomb | Pass the bomb | You are last alive |
| Crown | Steal / keep crown | Crown is on you |
| Competitive | Spend a hit | You still have lives |
| Infected | Convert | Infected: all converted. Runner: you lived |
| Freeze | Freeze / thaw | Your side’s objective on the HUD |
| Chaos | Depends on your role | Your personal objective |
| FFA | Eliminate / score tags | You out-tag or outlive |
| Juggernaut | Hunt or smash the tank | Role text |
| Slasher | Damage survivors | Kill or survive |
| TDM | Eliminate other colors | Your team’s stock |
| Team Swap | Convert color | Your color dominates |
Coins still pay for unique tags and for wins (often 10+). XP levels pay more coins later. None of that replaces movement. A Crown peasant who can high-vault will steal from a crown who cannot. An Infected runner who can fall swing will outlive a camper. Pair this page with Movement and the layout notes in Maps. Spend the payout in Shop and Coins, and grab codes so you are not farming one player for reduced rewards. Players is for names; this page is for the card you clicked.
How to vote with purpose
Vote the mode that matches the skill you are drilling today. Learning rolls? Classic or Infected, so chases last. Learning fall swings? Crown or Bomb, so height is mandatory. Learning team callouts? Team Swap. Avoid Chaos until you can name the other cards without this page. If a misprint lands, do not leave: the achievement and the practice are the point. After the two map rounds, pick a layout that supports the next mode — Maps — instead of rage-voting a random third card. That is how public lobbies stop feeling like a slot machine and start feeling like Getting Started with extra rules.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How does voting work in untitled tag game?
Each round you pick one of three gamemode cards. Maps vote every two rounds. Triple Vote makes your pick count three times. Misprints can replace the winner. Details are on this Gamemodes page.
What is a misprint?
A rare twisted version of a map or mode, such as Hot Potato, Speed Classic, Medic Infected, or Guarded Crown. You usually see it after the vote unless a stacking Triple Vote hints at the glitch.
Which mode should beginners vote?
Classic, Infected, Bomb, Crown, or Freeze. Save Chaos, Slasher, and limited cards until you can tag and roll. Getting Started has the first-session list.
How do I win Classic versus Infected?
Classic: be a runner when time ends (tags swap). Infected: runners survive, infected convert the lobby. Movement for both is on Movement.
Are Royal FFA, The Storm, and Toxic always in the pool?
Royal FFA and The Storm are limited-time cards. Toxic began as an event and still returns in limited or private-server form. Check the three cards you are actually shown.
