The recode demo opened 26 December 2023. The live title dropped [recode] on 24 March 2025 and became simply untitled tag game. People still say recode to mean this place versus legacy. Those dates are the floor. Everything below sits on that floor.
What this wiki treats as current
This wiki last treated a ship around 31 August 2026 as the current gameplay update on place 14044547200. Roblox’s place Updated stamp has also fired on 3 September 2026; treat that as a publish hint, not as a new movement rewrite, until Discord #updates says otherwise. Use that as the “now” line for No Tag Back, the mid-screen HUD cluster, and related chase habits. The Roblox Updated stamp on the place page is noisy — studio publishes can fire without a design patch. Confirm on Discord #updates and X @untitledtaggame before you rewrite controls or movement from a rumor.
If Discord is quiet and your roll still works, you are probably not missing a secret rewrite. Keep voting Classic.
30 August 2026 — No Tag Back timer
On 30 August 2026 the recode added a No Tag Back (NTB) timer beside the NTB shield icon. After a role change, the timer shows remaining immunity. You no longer guess whether the victim can click you back; you watch the countdown.
Two rules did not flip with the widget:
- Knockback still applies during NTB. The shield blocks the role change, not the shove. You can still get pushed off a swing bar, a roof, or a pad while the timer runs.
- Role changes stay blocked until the timer ends. Standing on the person you just tagged is how you eat the revenge click the moment the shield drops.
Play the timer as a leave window. In Classic, tag and take height. In Bomb, pass and create distance. In Crown, steal and leave melee. If you treat NTB as a dance pad, you lose the streak when it expires.
Community wiki notes from September 2026 mention the NTB timer together with a speedometer in the middle of the screen. If your HUD now shows a speed readout next to the shield countdown, that is the same mid-screen cluster, not a second secret gadget. If you do not see the speedometer, do not assume you are on a different place. UI scale, first person, and Hide UI can tuck it. Check controls for the hide-UI bind before you ping Discord.
22 June 2026 — temporary revert
On 22 June 2026 the official wiki homepage noted that some features from the previous update were temporarily reverted. That sentence is why a swing, flip, or HUD toy you practiced in spring might be missing in a public lobby later.
Do not rebuild your whole kit around a vanished gimmick. Recheck, in order:
- Discord #updates for whether the revert is still live.
- Movement for slide, roll, vault, swing, zipline, wallrun, and rails — those remain recode’s identity.
- This snapshot, then the Updates Hub, before you assume the install is broken.
April Fools flipping is a seasonal joke, not a permanent public tool. If a flip vanished after June, that matches the revert note plus the calendar on events. A missing HUD toy is the same story. File a clip in Discord if you must; do not invent a new bind.
Tagpads are still on the floor
Tagpads shipped 1 April 2026 and they remain a map tool. They are not a joke card you can ignore after April Fools week. Pads on Craigville and similar tiles launch you; they are height machines. If a clip from April shows a pad-adjacent gimmick you cannot find, assume the 22 June revert before you assume the pad itself was deleted.
27 December 2025 — tag feed designs
On 27 December 2025 the recode added tag feed designs. Players can choose avatar headshots, usernames, or both for the on-screen tag feed. That is a readability setting, not a walkspeed buff. Pick the layout you can parse in a 40-player pile-up. Headshots help if you recognize faces. Usernames help if you hunt unique tags for coins. Combined view is noisier on mobile.
This is not an August 2026 ship, but it is still live HUD language. If your feed looks different from a friend’s, they picked a different design — not a different build.
How to verify a patch
Do this before you relearn anything:
- Discord #updates. First-party notes, playtest waves, revert warnings. Event teasers usually land here before the Roblox thumbnail changes.
- X @untitledtaggame. Collab art, Hunt captions, and patch tweets in parallel with Discord. Backup if Discord is down.
- In-game Q menu. Treat it like a tiny browser:

Codes, achievements, and quests that did not vanish with the HUD

Achievements cannot be earned in private servers. Labbing vaults in a 10-Robux instance will not pop Hot Streak, Gymnast, or Tourist. Public rounds count. Details: Achievements Guide.
Seasonal toys rotate. Halloween Spotlight runes, Hunt graffiti, and holiday versus bars are archived on events. Do not grind a 2025 thumbnail as if it were the 31 August 2026 HUD.
What to re-learn after this snapshot
Movement first — movement — because NTB and knockback only matter if you can leave. Then binds — controls — if you hid the HUD and lost the timer. Then events if a thumbnail looks like a collab. Then legacy vs recode if your character cannot roll.
