untitled tag game Map Tier List
Which recode maps reward routes and height, and which ones flatten the chase.
This is an opinionated S-C ranking of untitled tag game maps. The live recode (place 14044547200) votes three maps every two rounds. The question for this list is not “which map looks the most 2007.” It is: can a player who knows movement take a second path when the first one is cut? If yes, the map climbs. If the layout is a hallway, a flat plate, or a private-server void, it drops.
Pair this page with the maps guide for landmarks and with the gamemodes guide plus the gamemode tier list so you do not waste Classic on a C-tier plate. Getting started covers voting. Codes buy trails; trails do not buy routes.
The S-C table
| Map | Tier | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Crossroads | S | Four quadrants, bars, castle, den, playground loops |
| Glass Houses | S | Sightlines plus roofs, outpost ziplines, hill cuts |
| Rocket Arena | S | Vertical pads, height, committed drops |
| Bloxburg | A | Alleys, rails, roofs; a few dead-end streets |
| Chaos Canyon | A | Classic canyon cuts, towers, under-hill space |
| Craigville | A | Tagpads and town lines; learn the pad or lag behind |
| SFOTH | A | Sword-fight height and ledges, slightly narrower |
| Haunted Mansion | B | Rooms and mood, fewer clean loops |
| Area 51 | B | Hallways and sci-fi cover, easy to trap |
| Raven Rock | B | Big rock, fewer redundant routes |
| Roblox HQ | B | Landmark fun, mixed chase quality |
| Flat / open private maps | C | Nowhere to hide a movement read |
Misprints (Glass Castles, Creepyroads, Bloodburg, CI Crossroads) inherit the parent rank unless the rebuild deletes a lane. Event skins from Hallows and Holiday usually keep the skeleton.
S-tier: Crossroads, Glass Houses, Rocket Arena
Crossroads is the recode’s textbook. Four quadrants — Playground (Happy Home, trampoline, lake), Blackrock Castle, Lost Temple, Thieves’ Den — meet at a cross path. You can always leave a fight: vault the castle, fall-swing a bar, bounce the trampoline onto the wooden bridge, or disappear into the den. That redundancy is why Crossroads is S for Classic, Crown, and Infected. A tagger who only chases the same stairs will lose to a runner who changes quadrants. Combat Initiation’s CI Crossroads is a ruined, larger cousin from the 2024 collab; treat it as S-adjacent when it appears, but learn vanilla first.
Glass Houses is the sightline exam. Glass buildings sit on brown hills, towers flip the classic layout, and a central outpost offers ladders plus ziplines into the houses. You can see a peasant two roofs away and still fail the tag if they slide the hill and wallrun a checkered face. Verticality is honest: the highest useful height is modest, so fall swings and slide boosts matter more than raw climb. Freeze and Crown both shine here because frozen bodies and crown holders are visible without turning the map into a closet.
Rocket Arena is height. Launch pads, stacked platforms, and committed drops make roll timing and fall swings mandatory. A runner who cannot roll a landing will eat a tag in the pit. A tagger who cannot read a pad will watch the crown leave the arena. This is the map where S-tier movement is loudest. If you are learning, spend a private-server intermission hitting pads until the roll is automatic, then queue public Classic.
A-tier: Bloxburg, Chaos Canyon, Craigville, SFOTH
Bloxburg is the city. A park in the middle, streets that spell a giant R, alleys with rails, rooftop boards. Vault chains and railgrinds are real here. It misses S because a few streets are dead ends: a tagger who cuts the only alley wins a free convert. Learn the rail lines and the roof hops before you treat it like Crossroads.
Chaos Canyon is old Roblox in the best way. Central climb (stairs plus a ladder), two towers, a painted structure, a rock hill with ruins and an under-hill pocket. Cuts are clean. It sits in A rather than S because the canyon can funnel both teams into one staircase during Infected or Team Swap. Classic still feels great.
Craigville earned A the day tagpads landed (teased for April Fools 2026, then added to maps like this one). Pads boost you along a wedge — or shove you away if there is no wedge. Players who ignore pads lose height to anyone who uses them. Town geometry is otherwise A-tier: enough interiors to juke, enough streets to cut. If a revert disables pads for a week, Craigville plays closer to Bloxburg.
SFOTH (Sword Fights on the Heights) is ledges and drop-offs. Height is the identity. It is slightly narrower than Rocket Arena, so a good cut can trap a crown on a single island. A, not S: fewer redundant exits than Crossroads.
B-tier: Haunted Mansion, Area 51, Raven Rock, Roblox HQ
Haunted Mansion is a mood piece: rooms, a lake, Halloween props, Slasher lighting when that mode is on. Interior chases are real, but loops are shorter. Great for events and Slasher, merely fine for Classic. Area 51 is hallways and sci-fi cover. You can hide; you can also get sealed. Raven Rock is a large rock with fewer extra lanes. Roblox HQ is a landmark people vote for the screenshot. All four are B: playable, memorable, not the exam.
Hallows 2024 reskins (Bloodburg, Cursed Canyon, Creepyroads, Ghastly Houses, Wraith Rock, Rotten Arena) should be ranked as their parents unless a wall actually moved. Halloween Spotlight 2025 and Holiday 2025 added more seasonal tiles; check events when a card looks unfamiliar.
C-tier: private plates and empty fields
Private servers (10 Robux) unlock debug maps, baseplates, biggerboxes, and work-in-progress tiles. A flat plate is useful for testing a slide boost. It is useless for proving you can juke. Rank every open, flat, or randomly generated private map C for public-skill talk. Hide and Seek layouts and Slap For All’s Slaparena / Slappyroads were collab toys — fun, not a ladder.
If the lobby votes a C map during Classic, you can still practise roll timing. You cannot practise route reading. Vote S maps when you care about the tier list hub criteria.
How to vote maps with modes
- Classic, Crown, Infected: demand S maps. Crossroads first.
- Bomb and Freeze: A maps are fine. Craigville pads make Bomb spicy; Glass Houses makes Freeze honest.
- FFA / TDM: B maps are acceptable because the mode is already a brawl.
- Chaos / Initiation: pick whatever matches the joke. CI Crossroads for King hunts.
Two rounds per map is enough to learn one new line. After the session, write down one Crossroads quadrant you still cannot leave under pressure. That note is worth more than a screenshot of Roblox HQ.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Why is Crossroads S-tier for this wiki?
Four quadrants and extra toys (trampoline, bars, den) mean you always have a second path. That is the definition of a movement map. See the maps guide for the landmarks.
Do event reskins change a map's rank?
Usually no. Bloodburg is still Bloxburg with a costume. Re-rank only if a collab (CI Crossroads) rebuilds lanes. Track skins on events.
Are private-server maps always C?
For rank talk, yes if they are flat or empty. Use them to drill movement in intermission, then vote S maps in public.
Where do tagpads fit?
They lifted Craigville into A. Treat any map that gains pads as a height tool. If a revert removes them, play the geometry you still have.
Which map should a new runner learn first?
Crossroads, then Glass Houses. Read getting started and the runner page, then spend a night on one quadrant at a time.
