How to win Crown in untitled tag game
Keep the hat, steal the hat, and stop chasing the crowd up the same ladder.
Crown is the keepaway card. About 13% of the lobby spawn as crown. The rest spawn as peasants. A peasant tag swaps the hat. Mid-round joins are peasants. If a crown leaves, resets, or dies, a random peasant inherits the role. When the timer ends, every living crown wins and every peasant loses. Duration is 60 seconds plus 3 seconds per player, capped at 180. Recode place 14044547200.
This page is the role. Gamemodes covers the vote card and misprints. Special roles is the catalog. Runner and tagger still matter because the click is the same melee tag. No Tag Back is the 3.5-second steal shield.
Win condition, in one sentence
Be a crown when the clock hits zero. Peasants who never steal lose. Crowns who get greedy on a ladder lose. There is no bonus for holding the hat the entire round except not dying as a peasant at the buzzer.
Official recode notes put the end-of-round payout around 50 coins and 75 XP for a crown win. Solo Crown misprint raises that toward 100 / 100. Do not skip codes because you “almost had the hat.”
If you spawn peasant
You will spawn peasant most of the time. Do not sprint at the nearest glow. The pack already did that.
Hotspots. People climb ladders and trampolines because they look like high ground. Wait at the top of those lines on Crossroads, Bloxburg, Rocket Arena, and any map with a famous chimney. The maps page is the layout book. A peasant who camps a ladder catches crowns who thought height was free. A peasant who runs the same line as twenty other peasants is a 2% lottery ticket.
Identify, predict, decide, execute. Find the crown. Guess the next quadrant. Cut the exit, do not glue yourself to their back. Direct chase in a 40-player pile is how you watch someone else steal. Aim the tag at the torso, not the head or the shoes. The click is proximity plus a facing; limbs miss.
With about two minutes left and no hat, you have to hunt. Before that, let the crowd flush the crown toward your cutoff. Movement is how you arrive first: roll into the landing, vault the lip, swing if a bar is on the line. Do not slide into a wall and stop.
After you steal, No Tag Back is about 3.5 seconds. Leave. The old crown cannot take it back until the timer ends, but they can still knock you off a roof. Play the shield as an exit, then become the keepaway player in the next section.
If you spawn crown (or just stole it)
You are now the loot crate. Peasants have a prompt to take the hat. Your prompt is to keep it.
Do not sit. High ground is useful until it is a dead end. Crossroads Thieves’ Den, Glass Houses roofs, and Rocket Arena pads are exits, not thrones. Change height, then change quadrant. A crown who loops one roof trains the lobby.
Second path. The pack takes the obvious ladder. You take the swing, the zipline, the smashable, or the tagpad on Craigville. If you only know one line on a map, you will donate the hat on round two of that map. Two rounds is the whole vote window.
Ankle-breaker / slide. A slide with camera look lets you change heading without planting. Peasants who lunge a straight tag miss a committed slide. Full Tilt off in settings makes that slide readable. Camera shake at 0 does the same.
Graphics and FOV. Seeing a peasant on a side ledge is worth more than a trail. FOV near 120, highlights on, NTB visuals on. Trails from shop and coins help you see your own path; they do not block tags.
If you die, leave, or reset, a random peasant becomes crown. Do not reset as a crown unless you are throwing the round. In Chaos, reset is a different tool (oof can tag a crown to revive as a runner). That is not Crown mode. Read the card.
Misprints
Solo Crown. One hat. Win payout is higher. The pack is the entire lobby. Cut-offs matter more; direct chase matters even less. NTB still exists. Camping a ladder still works for the one peasant who is patient.
Guarded Crown. Some players spawn knights who can hit peasants. If you are crown, knights are a moving wall — do not treat them as a reason to AFK on a roof. If you are a knight, peel peasants off the hat, do not chase cosmetics. If you are a peasant, bait a knight off the line, then steal.
Other crown-adjacent cards (Royal FFA, Chaos with a crown in the mix) reuse the steal click with a different win table. Gamemodes lists them. The gamemode tier list is vote flavor.
Maps that decide Crown
Vertical maps with two exits per roof favor crowns who learned movement. Flat maps favor the peasant pack. Crossroads, Glass Houses, Rocket Arena, and Bloxburg are the usual classrooms. Highway Havoc and Toy Arena as limited cards change the props, not the rule: do not share a ladder with twenty people.
Infinite Crown is an alternate server, not a vote card. It is a practice lane for keepaway. Your first hour should still be a normal public lobby so you see peasants. Getting started covers which place to join.
Practice order
- One public Crown as peasant: wait at a ladder top, steal once, leave on NTB.
- One public Crown as crown: survive 30 seconds without using the same roof twice.
- Solo Crown if it appears: one hunt, one cutoff, no stampede.
- Private server (10 Robux) to drill the same map twice — private servers — then go back to public so the pack exists.
Crown is not Classic with a hat. Classic wants you off the tagger team at the buzzer. Crown wants the item on your head. Same click, different scoreboard. Play that sentence.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How do I win Crown in untitled tag game?
Be a crown when the timer ends. Peasants steal with a tag. Crowns keep the hat by leaving after a steal and using a second path. See gamemodes for the card.
How many players spawn as crown?
About 13%. The rest are peasants. Mid-round joins are peasants. If a crown leaves or dies, a random peasant inherits the hat.
What is Solo Crown?
A misprint with one hat and a higher win payout. Cut-offs matter more because the whole lobby hunts one player.
How long is No Tag Back after a Crown steal?
About 3.5 seconds. Knockback still hits. Full mechanic: No Tag Back.
Should I chase the crown in a pack?
No. Wait at hotspots (ladder tops, trampolines), cut the exit, and tag the torso. Direct chase in a 40-player pile is a lottery.
Is Infinite Crown the same as the Crown vote card?
No. Infinite Crown is an alternate server for keepaway practice. The vote card is a timed public round with peasants.
