How to track updates

1. Official Discord. The untitled tag game Discord is the first-party channel. #updates is where recode notes, playtest waves, and revert warnings land. Event teasers (Halloween Spotlight, Hunt portals, April Fools tagpads) usually appear here days before the Roblox page changes. Join from the in-game socials or the Roblox description; do not trust random “free coin” servers.

2. X / Twitter. The game account is @untitledtaggame (also stored on this wiki’s site metadata). Collab art, Hunt captions (“First to the Token…”), and DOORS / Slap Battles announcements hit X in parallel with Discord. If Discord is down, X is the backup.

3. In-game. Open the menu (Q) and treat it like a tiny browser: utg://home, utg://shop, utg://codes, utg://inventory, utg://leaderboard, utg://settings. Event pages (utg://thehunt, utg://advent, utg://imitation, battle pass URLs) appear only while the event is live, then 503 out. A new thumbnail, a scribbled April Fools card, or a versus bar in the HUD is a patch even if Discord is quiet.

4. The Roblox place itself. Place 14044547200 (universe 4864117649) is the live recode. The Roblox “Updated” timestamp is noisy — studio publishes can fire without a design patch — but a jump after a Discord ping is real. This wiki last treated a 31 August 2026 ship as the current gameplay update (NTB timer on the shield icon, among other HUD work).

5. This wiki’s event log. When a collab or season is big enough to change maps or modes, it gets a section on events. When the question is “am I in the old game,” open legacy vs recode.

• 2021 — legacy untitled tag game ships as its own place (8365905206). Tag plus early movement. That place still exists and is not this wiki’s live target.
• 13 July 2023 — _create (jasper_creations, NotPitiful, Number1Riker, redekbob, and the rest of the group) starts taking recode feature requests.
• 26 December 2023 — recode demo opens on place 14044547200. Movement is rewritten: slide, roll, vault, swing, wallrun, zipline. The demo was meant to close at New Year 2024; it stayed open.
• 2024 — collabs stack: Combat Initiation (CI Crossroads, Initiation, King), Hallows themed maps, DOORS Courtyard, Slap Battles Slap For All / Slaparena.
• 13–24 March 2025 — Roblox The Hunt: Mega Edition. Tokens, cash, graffiti portals.
• 24 March 2025 — the live title drops [recode] and becomes simply untitled tag game.
• April Fools 2025 / 2026 — flipping, joke cards, Toxic, later tagpads.
• October 2025 — Halloween Spotlight (runes, keys, utg://imitation).
• December 2025 — Holiday 2025 (advent, versus bars, seasonal maps).
• 22 June 2026 — wiki / patch note: some features from the previous update were temporarily reverted. If a swing, flip, or HUD toy vanished, this is why. Recheck Discord before you assume the movement guide is wrong.
• Around 31 August 2026 — latest gameplay-facing ship this wiki is writing against, including the No Tag Back timer.

What to re-learn after a patch

Movement first. If roll timing or slide boost feels different, it will show up on Classic before it shows up in Chaos. Then modes: a new card in the three-vote is either a misprint or an event toy — rank it with the gamemode tier list only after you know the rule. Then maps: a Halloween skin is usually the same skeleton; a CI rebuild is not. Then roles: special roles if the prompt on your HUD is a sentence you have not seen.

Do not queue the 2021 place because a YouTube thumbnail still says [recode]. The live game is 14044547200. Legacy is nostalgia and a portal in its lobby.
