untitled tag game is a role engine wearing a parkour suit. Every round assigns you a job. The getting started page covers the first spawn; this hub explains what the job is. Open runner if you need to survive, tagger if you need to cut, crown if the vote card is the hat, and special roles for bomb, peasant, infected, freeze, toxic, slasher, juggernaut, and King.

The live game is the recode (Roblox place 14044547200, by _create). Online multiplayer, up to 40 players. The 2021 legacy place is a separate, older experience. Roles below describe recode.

The two jobs everyone learns first

Runner means survive. In Classic you want to still be a runner at the buzzer. In Infected you want to stay unconverted. In Freeze you want to stay thawed and to thaw others. Speed, jukes, and knowing when not to take high ground are the whole craft. Details: runner.

Tagger means apply the tag. Left mouse button on computer, tap on mobile (no gear equipped). In Classic a tag swaps you with the runner. In Infected and Team Swap a tag converts. In FFA a tag eliminates. You also get coins and XP, with reduced rewards for tagging the same person over and over. Streaks (hot streak at 10, then higher) are real achievements — do not throw them on a No Tag Back shield. Details: tagger.

What a tag actually does

No Tag Back (NTB) is a short shield after a role change. Length depends on the mode (Freeze often sits around three seconds). You can still get knockback; you cannot immediately swap again. A timer next to the NTB icon was added around 30 August 2026. If you tag during NTB you waste a swing and maybe a streak.

Ghosts (and similar spectator roles like oof / dead) watch after elimination or a mid-round join in some modes. Ghosts do not tag. If you are spectating, study routes instead of chatting through the next Classic.

Special roles at a glance

Full kit on special roles:

• Bomb — pass the fuse or explode. Last runner is the survivor line.
• Crown / Peasant — hold the crown, or steal it. Timer win for crowns.
• Infected / Patient Zero / Runner — convert the lobby, or clutch as a survivor.
• Freezer / Frozen / Chiller / Runner — freeze, thaw, or decay into a hunter.
• Toxic — lose HP on a clock, swap with runners, hope someone else explodes first.
• Slasher / Survivor — horror vision, lives, finish the lobby or outlast the clock.
• Juggernaut / Hunter — decaying tank versus a pack that chips you down.
• King (Initiation, Combat Initiation collab) — the target. Hunters have lives; the King has a health pool.
• Chaos mix — any of the above in one round. Play the prompt on your screen, not the last mode you voted.

How roles meet maps and modes

A runner on Crossroads should change quadrants. A tagger on Glass Houses should cut ziplines instead of chasing roofs. A crown on Rocket Arena should treat pads as exits, not thrones. Vote with the gamemodes guide, the gamemode tier list, and the map tier list so your role can actually use movement.

Chaos and misprints will ignore this advice. That is fine. Read the color of your character, read the on-screen prompt (“keep your crown”, “DONT BE TOXIC”), and play that sentence.

Practice order

1. Classic as runner until you can leave Thieves’ Den without panicking.
2. Classic as tagger until you can cut a zipline instead of following it.
3. Crown for keepaway, Infected for clutch, Freeze for teammate habits.
4. Bomb and Toxic for timer discipline.
5. Slasher, Juggernaut, Initiation when you want a boss fight.

Redeem codes between sessions. Skim updates after the 22 June 2026 revert note and the late-August 2026 patch so NTB timers and tagpads still match what you practised.
