There are two untitled tag game places on Roblox. People still say “recode” in 2026 because the live title only dropped the brackets on 24 March 2025. If you queue the wrong one, every movement sentence on this wiki will feel like a lie. This page is the split.

• Live recode — untitled tag game, place 14044547200, universe 4864117649, by _create. Online multiplayer, up to 40 players. Demo opened 26 December 2023. This wiki, the codes list, and the tier lists describe this place.
• Legacy — [legacy] untitled tag game, place 8365905206, 2021. Separate place. Development focus moved off it. Visits still exist; patches do not. A portal in the legacy lobby points at recode.

Why recode exists

Legacy was the 2021 tag game: Classic-style rounds, a lobby intermission, a map vote, a mode vote, coins, and a movement kit that already had slide, vault, and swing in a stiffer form. It worked. It also accumulated years of glue. _create (jasper_creations, NotPitiful, Number1Riker, redekbob, and the group) started a ground-up rewrite in 2023, took community feature requests from 13 July, and opened a recode demo on 26 December 2023. The demo was supposed to close at New Year 2024. It stayed. On 24 March 2025 the live name became simply untitled tag game — the word recode remains the community’s way to say “not the 2021 file.”

The Roblox description still calls it a remake of the legacy counterpart, built from scratch, with climbing, sliding, rolling, vaulting, swinging, and more. That sentence is the patch note.

Movement rewrite

This is the real difference. Recode’s character is a momentum animal. Legacy movement is playable; recode movement is the identity.

Legacy had several of these in simpler form. It did not have the same roll scaling, vault stacking, fall-swing conversion, or the later pad language. If a YouTube video is filmed in a lobby with a separate intermission map and no recode HUD, you are watching the old place. Do not copy its keybinds onto runner practice.

The 22 June 2026 note that some previous-update features were temporarily reverted applies to recode, not to legacy. Legacy is not receiving those toys.

Maps and modes

Both places love 2007 Roblox: Crossroads, Glass Houses, Chaos Canyon, Rocket Arena, Haunted Mansion, SFOTH. Recode rebuilt them, then added a main pool that legacy never fully grew: Bloxburg, Craigville, Raven Rock, Roblox HQ, Area 51, plus collab tiles (CI Crossroads, Courtyard, Slaparena) documented on events. Recode also invented the misprint — a low-odds glitchy variant of a voted map or mode — and the private-server debug / tagmin museum of plates.

Modes on recode: Classic, Bomb, Crown, Competitive, Infected, Freeze, Chaos, FFA, Juggernaut, Slasher, TDM, Team Swap, plus Toxic, Initiation, Hide and Seek, Slap For All, and a pile of misprints. Legacy had a smaller deck and older Freeze/Infected numbers. Do not assume a legacy wiki fandom page still matches the recode HUD. This wiki’s gamemodes and special roles pages are recode-only.

Voting differs too. Recode shows three mode cards each round and a map vote every two rounds. Triple Vote gamepass stacks extra votes and can reveal misprint glitch art. Legacy used a lobby-and-vote loop that feels slower. If you want reps, recode’s round cadence is the one worth learning.

Systems only recode has (or only recode still feeds)

• Achievements in the Roblox inventory (hot streak, you’re it, tourist, survivor). They do not drop in private servers.
• Level / XP from tags and wins, paid out as coins.
• Menu browser (utg://shop, utg://codes, event URLs).
• Codes that this wiki lists on codes.
• Alt servers (voice chat, Infinite Crown) from the switcher.
• Collabs with Combat Initiation, DOORS, Slap Battles, and Roblox platform events (Hunt, Halloween Spotlight).

Legacy still has coins and a shop in its own economy. It does not receive Hunt tokens, Spotlight runes, or the August 2026 NTB timer.

Why recode is the live game

Queue recode because that is where the players are, where Discord #updates point, where events happen, and where movement tech is still being patched (including the 31 August 2026 HUD work). Queue legacy only if you want the 2021 museum. The recode lobby does not need a lecture — the Roblox search result named untitled tag game without [legacy] is the one.

If a friend sends place 8365905206, send them 14044547200. If a thumbnail still says [recode] untitled tag game, that is the same live place before the 24 March 2025 rename. If your character cannot roll a landing, you are either in legacy or you have not opened the movement guide.
